Pulling pass. side head, have ? I'm only pulling the passenger side for a repair. My question is would I be able to get the head off without actually removing the intake manifold? It looks like if I just unbolt the manifold from the head that I could slide the head off without actually removing the intake. What do you guys think?
Re: Pulling pass. side head, have ? The specific reason is that there is a series of smaller 10mm bolts that need to come out to get the head off. They are under the intake manifold. The intake manifold is far easier to remove than the heads. Make sure you look up directions on head R&R from places like ls1.fbody.com , as there are some serious gotchas, like moisture in the head bolt holes, that will create issues if you dont faithfully follow the instructions.
