Default Stock cubes and lots of spray, big headers or not?

That is the question. The car is going in for stock cubed short block and nitrous setup. I've been following all the posts about the Dynatechs and the big Grotts only being useful on big cubed motors. I'm currently running the Macs and want to know if the bigger header will be worth the swap for me with the new setup? Is a big cubed motor the equivilent to a nitrous setup in regards to choosing a bigger header?

A 150 shot on my heads/cam 346 makes more power and torque than most people's 422 n/a motors, so in my case running 1 7/8" headers (like my Whispers) is justified. Don't think you'll gain too much over MACs on the gas with 1 7/8" headers, but it won't hurt you either...that's for sure. On motor, I doubt you'd lose much low-end or mid-range...I don't. These 346ci LS1s make as much power as the Rat motors for the 60s and 70s and they ran best with 1 3/4 - 1 7/8" headers so you're not totally out of line.

Thanks Patrick. So your saying the gain might not be that noticable, but it won't hurt anything either. I'll most likely be going with the Dynatechs.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I'd go for it!
