Default Whos cam/heads will pull power to.......

8,000 RPMs?

It seems now with my TH400 new gear setup and the 26 inch tires. I will have to turn at least 7500 to make the traps.

I know I could run a 28 inch tire but I really havent forced my self to like the way it looks yet.

Anyone have any dynographs to 8,000 RPMs still making power?

The key here is the cam and lifters...gotta be a solid roller setup. Any of the top shops can do this: MTI, Thunder Racing, ARE, MMS. All the good Stage II heads flow more than enough air. Just make sure that your bottom end is built to handle the revs.

FWIW, I think only Judson Massingill's 418 solid roller motor is twisting in the 8000 rpm range on a consistent basis. It won't be long though, that this becomes the norm around the LS1 scene.

IMO, the stock rods are good for over 8000 rpms...it's just that the rod bolts, pistons, and stock oiling system are not up for continued use at 8000 rpms. Stockers are turning their motors 7800 rpms...they've just addressed the above issue (within the rules of course). <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

I kinda figured the same.

The rods are kinda simular to te old style pink rods they used to use back in the old muscle car days.
