What did I just break? H/C Install in progress
I'm sure you know the senario
"Why won't this friggen #$%@ thing that @#$$# won't @#$@! move. I've @#$@@ had -SNAP!-.... uh oh."
I was in the process of removing those pesky 15mm bolts from the back of my heads when the wrench slammed into a small cylindrical sensor at the very back of the block. It is black, cylindrical, plastic, vertically stands about two inches high, and is located right between the heads at the very back of the block.
What is it, and how hard is it to replace. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin

I believe there are 2 sensors back there...
cam position sensor and oil pressure sending unit.
Not sure which one you were describing

You just snapped your oil pressure sending unit. You want to get a new one. They are easy to snap and easy to replace. Don't recall the price, but a 24mm or maybe 27mm socket will do the trick. Without it, your gauge will read zero.
While talking about broken sensors...When I was changing the plugs in my 98' I broke the plastic fitting that goes into the front of the block on the driver's side. I'm not sure what sensor it is but its just above and to the left of the first spark plug, Any ideas??
CKZ, is that maybe a temp sensor...
6 speed, the intake has to come off on an f-body... I have had to do that... sadly the cam sensor was fine... They RARELY go bad.

Holy smokes this board is FAST...PSJ thanks for the help, I'm going into the dealer in the morning. It's always nice to have an idea of what I need because I go in there sometimes and the parts counter guy is clueless.
