Re: replacing valvespring keepers
I've always used the stock ones. I'm not sure if there is an aftermarket valve lock available or not, as I'm pretty sure the LS1 uses a fairly unique angle on these...

I just did this swap that you are talking about and I used the stock keepers. The LS1 keepers are small and have a unique lock angle. They cost $1.00 each ($2.00/valve), so you might want to buy a couple extras just in case you get clumsey and drop one down by the passenger side exhaust manifold and can't find it and it's 2:00AM. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> Ask me how I know that this might happen! By the way, the magnets that you use to hold up the lifters during the cam swap come in real handy when you're trying to remove the keepers. I also found that using a pair of needle nose plyers during installation of the keepers was easier than using my fingers and fumbling with the spring compressor.
Have fun,

I used some stock and some aftermarket SLP ones,, the two were exactly the same and I only bought them so that I had extra on hand in case I dropped some,, which I did.
