Let the madness begin!!

Has anyone found an engine oil that stops the oil consumption problem? Has that new GM PCV valve shown any good reslults?

Also, what type/brand of fluid you recommend for the T56 tranny?

Thanks

I really don't think its the oil thats causing it, I do find that it eats less when I have synthetic in there though... Now its a quart every 2000 miles instead of 1500...

Do you want to put new fluid in the T-56?

I'm definately gonna run synthetic, but I'm not sure of the brand. I'm leaning towards Mobil 1. I was wondering which brand and viscosity have shown the best results against oil consumption.
I'm thinking about changing the tranny fluid to a synthetic like Red Line since it won't hurt anything and may reduce wear. I'm undecided if it would really make a difference for the cost.
I know a few months ago people were talking about a new PCV valve, that might cut oil consumption. I was wondering if it really helps or not. It's only a couple bucks. Thanks, D.

Congrats on the car. I can't help with oil consumption since I never had that problem. I know quite a few people had pcv problems that caused oil consumption but I think that was on older LS1s.

As far as tranny fluid goes, once again synthetic MOBIL 1 ATF .

Thanks guys. I'm gonna try the 15w50 Mobil 1 first and if that doesn't work I'll try the Royal Purple. From what I remember, the problem was mainly the rings and that GM fixed the problem in Vettes but not the F body. Will the dealer fix the problem if I take it to them?
