Is the Crank Bolt the devil?
I am at the tail end of a Heads/Cam/Headers/Intake/blah blah blah install and the only thing that is holding up the show is that damn bolt ( <img border="0" alt="[guns]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_guns.gif" /> CRANK BOLT).
There seems to be too much play in the drive to get decent tension on the thing. I am using a breaker bar in connection with a 2' piece of pipe, and I run out of room before I can put some *** on it.
Any masters of the crank bolt please chime in.
Thanks,
Kevin

The FIRST thing I do before I attempt my heads/cam install is to get the crank bolt loosened up by a friend with an impact.

There was a lot of driveline slack, about 1/4 turn, but was able to find room to twist.
Are you using a 6pt or 12pt socket?
I removed the cover to the converter (Forget what its called).. the plate.. and put a screw driver in there.. the tip was under the converter center, and the end was ontop of one of the converter mounting links.. this prevented the converter from twisting past the motor.
I used 12pt socket with a 3' heavy breaker bar.. I had to use a LOT of force to get it to crack just a mm.. I braced myself against the wheel and just pulled VERY hard.

I used a 12pt ans was able to increment around the nut to get a full bite on it, because of all the DL slack.
