Do i have to?

Default Do i have to?

Do i have to run a solid roller with stage 2 heads to get my m6 hawk into the 10's N/A, or will a hydraulic do it? Also, will i have to fly cut the pistons, because of the cam, how about driveability?

It's going to have a lot to do with race weight, weather conditions, cars ability to 60', and of course driving ability. Race weight is going to play a huge factor. My rw is only about 3475, I think Abdulla was down in the 3300s. To date there are no hydraulic cammed 346 M6s in the tens. Abdulla (11.19) and I (11.23) are close but not there yet. I think it can be done, I ran out of good weather and money this season, but I will be there next <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I think a combination of low 1.5 sixty foot and 124 mph would do it. There are hydraulic cammed combos that be capable of that mph. I am limited to a hair under 123 due to my 6600 rpm rev-limiter, but with tuning I am confident of 124 mph.

how big of a cam are you running? How is it with driving it on the street? Did you have to fly cut your pistons?

I am running the MTI "Hammer" cam. Its a single pattern 222 duration 566 lift with a 112 lsa based upon the Comp cams Xtreme (not the XER) lobe design. When the car is warm and the cut out is closed you can barely notice that it is even there. It is a relatively mild cam as compared to a lot of the grinds for the LS1 out today. I did not have to do any work on the short block and I am only running Hypertech tuning at the moment. The biggest thing that I have done to effect my driveabilty was the clutch. Even it is not that bad, just takes a little getting used to.
