Default LS1 Cam Regrinding?

Is Comp Cams Ls1 cores suitable for lobe regrind?
Has any body reground a cam, is steel hardened deep enough to accomplish this? Somebody please help me on this one. TIA

If I'm not mistaken (which I very well could be), some of the first available "aftermarket" cams out there were regrinds.

Like I said, I could be wrong about that, though...

I thought all aftermarket cams were ground GM blanks.
