Default IAC count after H/C install

So ARE Stage 2 heads and Cam

Cam is the 226 234 cam... The question is where is my IAC count supposed to be. When i was looking at it on my scanmaster the other day it was in the 60's

its still at the shop cause the L-terms are way off from on bank to another..

sigh

Could be a bit lower, but is it having problems idling??

Did you open up the TB hole yet?

BTW, what was the problem before? Never heard, or i missed it.

Call me fool, you never did <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Well I hope either you were lucky, or my friend was very unlucky. He had the same problem, but it ended up far worse than just a high iac count.

Most people will throw around the 30-40 range for the IAC with a smooth idle.

At 60, I'd give it a day or two of road work, then think about another 1/64" drill out if the idle is taking a dive when breaking in city traffic.

What's your TB hole size drilled to now?

We're not sure what the extent of damage is, but the best it'll do at the track is like mid-high 12's ~111mph. Can't remember what it dynoed, but it's about 70-80hp below target.

Let's say the IACs are at 50, and take a dive to 0, then surge back up to 50, then take a dive back to 0...what should one do then? TPS voltage is .48.

I put the idle set screw higher to get TPS to .52 volts, now the IAC is 10 and dives to 1, then surges back up to 10, and repeats over and over.

TPP on scanmaster is ALWAYS zero. Is that pintle position?

My friend wasn't told this either, until it was a little late. I'll see if I can get a chance to look at his iac counts to get specifics on what it's doing. I know we looked before, but I can't remember.

IAC counts should be around 30 when fully warmed up. when cold, they will be a little higher and slowly fall to a steady number @ idle. if they are jumping all over the place, it's because you're not getting enough air to the motor (w/ throttle closed) to keep it running. the pcm is trying to keep it running by finding a happy spot for the IAC pintle to rest in. oh, by the way, IAC counts around zero are not good.
what's your throttle blade drilled to now?

I have a 7/32 hole with a 114 LSA single pattern cam. IACs surge from 10 to 0. Do I need to drill up another size?
