Default PICS: Down to the shortblock, cant find the problem yet.

Well, you can read my troubles here: https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ulti...c;f=1;t=003978 and the leakdown test results here: https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ulti...c;f=1;t=004063 but I still cant find the source of the tapping/clicking/knocking sound I was hearing. It wasnt a double tap like a wrist pin. It was more like a lifter. How do you check lifters? Here's the teardown pics: http://www.jaxracing.com/lswon/teardown/teardown.htm . Some say it may have been late ignition of the bad plug. And others say the 20% leakdown might be normal of cold pistons and rings. There was no blow by. Car wasnt missing or stuttering. Just making that tapping noise is all. Cylinder walls look great. Pistons look fine from what I can see. I am still hunting. Any help or ideas are appreciated.

have you checked to make sure the headers and offroad y pipe by the collectors are connected well and have no leaks? because an exhaust leak leads to LOUD ticking depending on the size of the leak....sorry to say, but you may have just had an exhaust leak the whole time??? I'd check that also....
