Default Couple of quick T1 questions

Hey guys, getting my T1 finally put in tomorrow, have a couple quick questions.

1.) What should I reset the rev limiter to, and what RPM's should I shift this cam at (M6 car).

2.) Do I need to change the oil soon after a cam install (will there be any extra flakes or anything), or can I stick to my regular change schedule.

3.) How many times should I heat cycle the springs before letting her rip?

Thanks alot fellas.

PS - Nineball and Colonel, saw you guys in the new issue of GMHTP, congrats!

If you are doing a custom PCM, set the rev-limiter at 6800 and shift at 6500-6600 rpm. With a HPP3, you are limited to 6600 rev-limit.

No need to change the oil for a cam swap, but it can't hurt. Depends on how clean your motor is when you remove the timing chain cover and valvecovers.

Cycle the springs at least 2 times if you wish. most people just beat on them ASAP. Just remember never to beat on them when the motor is cold.

I like those pics in GMHTP too, I wish they were in color though <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

start car...let car idle till normal idle temps...around 200 i guess. turn off car
let car cool down to normal temps....70 i guess
start car again after its cooled down and let it go back up to 200.
turn off the car again and let it cool to 70 again...and then drive around and take it up to operating temps then have fun.
