Default Paging Jason99T/A and George C...

Jason, I'm about to do my TR 224 cam swap and noticed in your earlier post that you used the KD3271 on the back passenger springs and the KD2078 on the other 14. Why not use the KD3271 on all 16? I dont want to buy both of them if I dont have to.

George C, I'm here in OP with you and was curious if you already had a KD3271 that I might be able to borrow and/or rent from you? I'm also looking for the GM tool J 42386-A Flexplate Holding Fixture, Kent-Moore in Warren, MI wants $54 for theirs.

Thanks in advance gentlemen.

Chris, I actually liked using the KD2078 better on the other springs. I felt as if I had more control with it. The KD3271 is the awesome for the back two on the passenger side, as you can use a socket/wrench to compress the spring in the tight confines back there.

I purchased all the GM tools from Kent-Moore. Alot of them are not in stock and will take a week or so to arrive. When I ordered my flywheel holding tool, it was in stock though.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Jason

Hey Chris, Dan here. My heads are sitting in my garage and I have one of those style spring compressors. I am about to pull the springs off the heads with it if you want to come by and try it out to see if you like it. If you need to borrow it you can do that too. If you give me the link to those tools again I can tell you exactly which one it is.

If you need to use mycompressor, drop me an email and we can get together... No problem for you to borrow it for awhile.

Jason, Thanks for the info. I'm sure you'll be hearing from me after the TR 224 goes in and I'm struggling to tune it!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

George and Dan, Thanks for the offers. I'll be getting in touch soon. Cam install is on hold for a few more weeks now. I'm going to go ahead and order the Flexplate holding fixture, so if you guys ever need to use it just let me know.

Dan, Sorry to hear about the motor. At least now you can build it to handle more laughing gas.
