Default picking the cam

I'm in the market for a Cam. I was looking at a few cams and would like your reccamendation. I will be having my s2 heads milled .40 (11.3:1 or 11.5:1, not sure yet) I also need to know what valve springs (i'm assuming double) and rockers as well. I dont mind shifting around 6800 either. I'm trying to get as close to 10's as i can with my m6, and not have driveabilty issues.

223/223 .588/.588 112

224/224 .281/.281 112 (CC XE-R)

G5

228/228 .585lift 112LSA XE-R

and the Thunder 224 112 lsa cam

of the cams you picked, i kinda lean towrds the 224 one.

i am a fan of the 224 thunder cam also. it hits hard.
there are many out there that will get you what your looking for.

the comp 918 should be fine for spring choice.

i rilly love the M.T.I hammer cam. 222/222 dur /w
563/563 lift on a 112 lobe. this cam idles real good in a m6 car.i use it in my t.a, it idles about 850 rpm.and pulls hard mid to top end.

I like the aggressive ramps of the XE-R grinds. I did see a comparison of the 224 XE-R to the TR224, and they're pretty identical as far as ramp rates go. The only difference would be the lift. You could lay the 223/223, XE-R 224, and TR224 cam on a table and pick one blindfolded, and you wouldn't know the difference between them with it in the car. They should all make right at the same power. The G5 and 228 XE-R will require more RPM's and gearing over the other three.

What gears and tires do you plan on using?

I really like the 228/228 XE-R lobe on a 114lsa. With the compression you are planning, I think it will work out just fine. Look for a 6800+ shiftpoint.

I would stick with the stock rockers. For valvesprings, I would look into the Comp 987s. These are a double spring and we are using these on all our GTP stg 2 double spring applications with great success.
