If your car has a ls1 in it for real then you have your pick of tuners.. You could either go with a bigger engine, supercharge it, or just do a head and cam package. I personally would go with a package that a company has already proven to be a winner.. If you look to the right on the banners you can call all of them and let them quote you some prices..

There customers seem to be very happy with there service and recommendations. They offer 400 - 450 rwhp packages with good drivability.

The Hammer cam is named after Raughammer. He had it ground for his car by Comp Cams. It's a special order cam, or at least was. AS for Rockers I think that for the $700 Us you'll have to spend you could use that on the LS1 Edit. (Computer Software for your ECU)

You guys gotta be nicer to him, he's from Australia with that Hot Rod which could be our new GTO. I don't know if hypertech (HPP3) can do a ECU for the Holden but you can ask them. I would pick up LS1 Edit since that seems to be a good way to get what you want and not worry about the programing because it can do it for you.

The Hammer Cam is 222/222 114 LSA, I would just use the standard lobes like Raughammer did orignally which are COmp Cams Lobes 3714. Then you can use the Comp Cams 26918 Springs and your stock lifters.

The heads are going to be very important, along with the headers, but I have no clue who makes headers for your Platform.

I know Reeves Calaway did some tuning for HSV when they needed 400hp LS1's before the LS6 came out, he might be able to help you. Callaway's Web Site

This is obviously not a cheap choice but they could answer some questions for you.

So Guys I need to get this right. A Hammer cam with XE-R lobs on a 114 MTI stage 2 heads with 222/222 lift .581/.581 lobe number 3721. What push rods do I use, lifters, springs and rockers?
What do I do about the factory revlimiter?

Slow down.
Go to my web page and read the cam page.
http://xs-fx.com/raughammer/cam_info.htm

Dont just skim it. READ it. Especially the cam shaft discussions towards the bottom of the page.

Once you fully understand what your getting into. THEN proceed with your queries.

I recommended the HAMMER on on a 114 with the XE-R lobes to get your idle as smooth as possible.
The HAMMER with the XE lobes would have your car idling slightly rougher. Just a little bit, now not much.
If you order the MTI stage 2 heads they will come with the big, bad *** dual springs. Thats why I recommended the XE-R lobes. If you dont get the BIG springs, go with the XE lobes.

AFTER you have read the afore mentioned cam page call up MTI @ 281 870 8787 and talk to them. Talk to Patrick. He will make sure you get what your looking for.

Thier stage 2 heads come CNC ported and then they hand port them to get them "just right".

An HPP3 is a Hypertech Programmer 3. It is a hand held unit that can reprogram your PCM's REV limiter and also other functions of your PCM. (fans turn on temp, ignition, adds a little timing, etc.)

To get your specified HP numbers you will need headers and an excellent cat back or at least a cut out. do a "search" on these mods. Use the "LS1tech search" feature at the top of the page to find them.

Do not get in a hurry. Make dang sure your get what you think your going to get. Australia is a LONG way from the U.S. Having your car down while parts are in shipping would suck. Take time to think all this through.

(question of the day)
Man, do they even make headers for the holden?

Good luck on your project. Happy reading!

Thank you very much for helping me out Raughammer.
I'm too geed up, i'm glad that somebody is helping me out. So I should get the LS1 Hypertech power programer 3?
With your recommendation do my standard rockers need to be replaced to benifet or leave as is?
Once again Thanks very much

Thanks Nickn20 for that. Raughammer the factory headers are 4 into 1, they look pretty smick. Oh yeah so that package good for 400RWHP

You might want to hook up with Plan B that posts on this board from Au. He's done a lot of mods to his car. Although our motors are the same, the Holden guys often say the pcm holds them back somewhat. Don't know if the LS1 Edit works with the Holden pcm (or even the Hypertech unit) but maybe he would.

I am going with the Thunder Racing 224/224 cam on a 112 LSA, but I am going to have the tuning done also. I am not willing to sacrifice any driveability or performance, and this cam will perform much better with tuning.
The first things you need to do are open up the intake and exhaust. Get an air induction kit and a cat-back exhaust...headers are a must for a cam. I don't know what is available for the Holdens, but more air in and out makes more power.
After that, you will have a good base to start on. One way to make 400 rwhp without tuning and still have a well running engine...is to do heads and a small cam.
I would get some Stage 1 heads from ARE or LG Motorsports. Then I would go with the 220/220 114 cam from Thunder Racing or the 216/220 114 cam from Comp Cams and see if that gets you close to 400 rwhp. Give Comp Cams a call and tell them what you want, they can help.
With a 3.73 gear, it will be a little harder for you to reach 400 rwhp than those of us with 3.42s

You definitely need to read up some in the Holden section here, and the Holden section at Ls1.com is rather big. I'm sure guys there could also give you some good ideas. 400rwhp is easy...errrr, whatever that is in kw.
