anyone have any long term problems with high compression motors I have my 5.3 truck heads on the way & my compression will be either 11.1:1 or 11.2:1. everyone says they are running fine on 93oct. with no pinging. do you think the bearings will be ok. anyother problems that anyon has had. my dad keeps telling me I made a mistake with going so high on the compression, but he is old school mopar man & don't know much about new cars(non carbed). thanks

The new aluminum LS1 has a more efficent Combustion Chamber and it's ALUMINUM, both along with computer controled timing will keep you out of trouble.
Old Mopars with Iron Heads dome pistions and bad combustion chambers on new gas will not work well on 93 with 11:1
My father says the same ****, but he understands all of that, just doesn't think it will work without getting the bugs out.
