hay i bought the ls6 stage 1 heads, dual springs, and valve job, and the ms4, 90/90 combo. am i better on going with the 5.3 heads with this cam. i really don't feel like flycutting the pistons. i am still wating for them to be shipped out do to back order (i think they may have been shipped out by now???) so i was thinking about changing if they would be better. don't mean to post this on here but i haven't got a responce via email. and i would like to maby get some other responces from other people.

thanks
cliff

LS6 should clear with that cam, depending on whether or not they've been milled. 5.3's have bigger 2.04 intake valves and will probably require notchs before the LS6 as long as they are still running 2.00/1.55 valves.

Good luck getting ahold of TSP. I still am waiting to hear back from them on some heads too They already lost my order for every internal engine component available for a 383 I am building since they did not answer my questions, but too bad they are the only source for PRC heads. I'm hoping patience will work, but unfortunately I am looking into the other options.

not milling to bump up the compression will be leaving a lot on the table specially in terms of drivability. I highly suggest flycutting even though its not the easy answer.

I emailed Jon at TSP 2 days ago and got a quick response. He told me that the 5.3 heads would not work with the MS4

I've always had great customer service with them. Great people to deal with. Try giving them a call again.

Oh no doubt they are great people. They are very nice, and I'd love to deal with them. Too bad they don't want to deal with me. They just seem to be very busy. I'm sure losing my business won't mean anything to them with how busy they must be. Luckily, another sponsor has stepped up and secured my purchase. Matt @ SDPC does seem to want my business, so he gets it. Sorry, I don't want to turn this into a bash TSP thread. Just stating my experience and relating to the original post about them not following up with questions. Trust me, TSP was my first choice, I wanted to buy everything from them, I've heard only good things about them- service, parts, etc. Just wish I had gotten the same treatment I had read about.

Cliff, if you were honestly willing to flycut the pistons, you would be better off putting the bigger valves in the LS6 heads. You could then deck the heads to bring the compression up a bit. You just have to decide whether or not it is worth the extra time and money for the added power.

Chad, I'm sorry we didn't get back to you fast enough. Sometimes it takes us the next day to get through all of our emails or PM's due to the increasing number of customers we deal with on a daily basis. We always tell customers who need an answer right away to call us. There are some things that just take time for us to get back on, such as estimates and quotes. Again, we apologize and good luck with your motor.

Ya with the MS4 you will have PTV clearance problems if you go with the stage 2.5 5.3 heads, unless you do some flycutting.

I ordered a cam package and oil pump and gaskets and some other stuff, and a bunch was on backorder so everything was shipped separate which kinda sucks bc i was wanting to install everything this week.

I have that same package, PRC stage 1 and MS4. It gained me 107 hp to the wheels. It was so worth it. I love TSP.

Any cam can pass OBD-II inspections as long as the correct tests are disabled.
