Default Noob 101 the basics

Ok I am sure somewhere in the history of this site I could find my answers (been reading this stuff all week) After spending the last year milking my LT1 for more power then going through the chassis 4 times to get the power on the ground, the car burned. My replacement ride is a
99 WS6 T/A 30th Anv. My question/s are as follows.
I want to work my way towards 450 rwhp, in the week I have been on this site I have ordered the MTI lid and filter (nice GP) the corsa cat back, the GMAF sensor and Autotap (another nice GP) I plan to use the Metco LCR and relocation brackets from my old ride along with the adjustable Panhard, I do not trust the Torque Arm as the front of it was envolved in the fire. With the above list of items where should I go next for power? Headers? Cam? Converter? Heads? Intake? Ported TB? should I bite the bullet and wait a couple months and drop the big $$ and get heads/cam/headers and tuning? what should I expect to pay for the heads/cam/headers installed?
I was thinking 5k ish. any thoughts?

You are going to need more than just heads/cam if you want to achieve 450 rwhp. You *could* make that much power with a heads/cam setup if you choose to go with an aggressive solid-roller camshaft. Not the best for a daily-driver though.

I'd recommend an all-bore 382ci setup like I had. Should make 450 rwhp and be VERY drivable.

An easy way would also be to just do a few bolt-ons and slap a 150 hp wet nitrous kit on the car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Oh yeah, since your car is a '99, go ahead and figure $400 for a LS6 intake manifold for it. These came standard on all '01+ F-bodies. Not worth a whole lot on a stock motor, but when you do heads/cam etc.. it will be worth it.
