Default whats the highest reving LS1?

id like to have a road racing car, but i want it to be plenty quick on the street and drag strip too. i dont see the use for big CI engines, i dont need that much power to road race; however, what about building an all-bore engine 382 CI or so, and putting on a solid cam? anything wrong with seeing that run to 7500 rpm or so?

also i kind of want to do something a little different. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I'm pretty sure the SAM car sees close to 8000rpm with their setup. The fuel/timing tables stop at 8000 in the factory PCM, so you won't be going any higher without an aftermarket PCM in the car.

I plan on turning my new motor pretty high...

1) All oiling issues are sorted out
2) Your intake manifold and heads can support the needed airflow
3) Severe duty crank/rods/bearings
4) Valvesprings
5) Severe duty rockers and lightweight valves
6) Obviously a solid roller

One thing I do not know about will be the needed rings and any possible windage issues in the block. Anyone else know?
