Between stock 99 heads and stock 6.0 heads?

I'm looking at the 224/228/114 cam with the 918 springs in prep for an ATI stage II.

Just wondering as a baseline if I should put some stock 6.0 heads on at the same time I do the cam.

Any ideas on HP gains with the cam, stock 5.7/6.0 heads, and a holley intake with the usual bolt ons.

If you bolt on the 6.0l heads as is, your compression will drop from 10.1:1 to about 9.6:1. This is because the 6.0l head has a larger combustion chamber to match with the 6.0l truck's 4.00" bore.

The 6.0l heads are a good starting point if you would like to get them ported. However, I think you would actually loose power by just bolting them on as is. Get them ported and have them milled at least 30-40 thousandths to get the compression in the 10.7:1 range.

edit: I just noticed you were planning on installing a ATI blower. You might reconsider milling them then. Maybe just a clean-up pass on them.

Loss with the heads, maybe 10-15?

Any ideas?
