Do I need programming for LS6 heads on my 2002 TA??? I am wondering if there is any programming needed. I know I need it for a cam, but what about heads. Thanks for the help. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: Do I need programming for LS6 heads on my 2002 TA??? Have you already bought the heads? just wondering As for install, prices can vary quite a bit. FWIW, the install is very easy. I've seen as low as $350 for a head swap and as much as $750. Also, your best bet is to probably get your bolts and gaskets before you take it to the shop. Many of the shops will mark these items up. I know that Thunder Racing sells gasket packages; that will give you an idea as to if the shop is sticking it to ya on parts or not.

Well the logical answer can be had by examining power difference between ls1 vette and ls6 in 2001 there was 40 hp difference(some of that power was bigger ls6 cam)I would say cam was worth 10 hp and heads about 30 hp. IMO <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Do I need programming for LS6 heads on my 2002 TA??? I think you're going to be hard-pressed to get 30 HP from stock LS6 heads. I was asking if you have the heads yet or not because I would get a set of stage I LS1 heads before I bought a stock set of LS6 heads.
