Slight miss at idle... Any ideas?
My thoughts :
Idle needs to be raised because of the converter.
Change plugs and wires : Have some MSD and NGK to go in.
Reset the PCM for Idle relearn.
Something 'seriously' wrong.
Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
RPM - That's the FIRST time I've heard of anyone else having the EXACT same problem. VERY interesting to say the least. It does make me feel a little better and make me think there is a 'glitch' that I'm missing and not something wrong with the car. Any info you can give me to what happened after the re-program would be great. Thanx!! <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

I was hoping you would post that. Wonder why you have to omit some steps for the '01 cars. <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">
Hopefully that'll fix the issue. Sure would like to be able to let it idle without an issue. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
My guess is that 700 would be a lot better, when it's that low sometimes the car will stall out when you have the a/c on.
Once you do a cam, you never worry about again... <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0"> <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0"> <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">
If you don`t let it idle that long you won`t have that problem right? Sounds like an easy fix to me <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0"> <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
Thanks to Paulie I know where the screw is to adjust the idle, so we'll see if that helps.
We also checked the TPS voltage and it was dead on right.
SO, we'll see what happens. <img src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" border="0" alt="[judgement]" />
Did new plugs, TR55s and wires, MSD and same damn thing.
Now, I see the small screw that sets the idle on the TB. It's 'under' the part that holds up the 'half-moon' of the TB right? Should I just bump this up a bit.
Another note, the car has died when put into reverse, idle seems very low. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Also, would it be worthwhile to drill open the hole in the TB at all?
P0300 = HELL! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />
I had to do this when I got my TC and cam installed. With a volt meter on the TPS and Autotap to read rpm, I was able to get close to 750 rpm at idle and not throw the p0507 code (high desired idle speed). This also eliminated the P0300 codes from popping up. If you want we can hookup since I live in Round Lake Beach and try this on your car.
Let me know,

No SES codes that the cats are bad, mild gas smell and white smoke at idle. smoke increases a little when RPMs raise. Has thrown P0300 code. Runs like ****, no power, bad gas mileage, A4 shifting all out of whack.
Good luck,

BadAss30th - How many miles on your car? Mine doesn't have 3000 yet. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> Boy, would that be a kick in the groin if the cats went bad that quick! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />
