Default Pace LS6 MAF

I'm told this is a calibrated MAF for the LS1. Assuming this is true, would I still require ATAP/MAFT to successfully use it?

TIA

You know what? I think it is a great MAF.. I personally can say I never needed to tune it, but it never read right on autotap anyway. My maf rate was never right.. I know it increased my timing by atleast one degree.. When I took it off my timing was 29 degrees.. When it was on my timing was 30 to 31 degrees at WOT.. Damn, I just showed people how to decrease timing without sending the pcm out..

Thanks for your help. I was wondering more along the lines of rich/lean tuning.

Oh.. My car was at 13.1 A/F ratio with the PACE MAF with no MAFT.. I did not even tell Ed Wright I was using it and the car was dead on..

I installed the Pace MAF and love it. So far all my best times were pulled with the Pace over my stock ported MAF. The stock ported MAF really woke my car up. The increased power was primarily from the timing gained when they leaned out my A/F.I have swapped them out several times just experimenting new ideas. Currently I am running the Pace 85mm sceened MAF due to the tranny line pressure concerns and I'm keeping it like this. I have the HPP3 power tuning installed which is known to lean the cars out and it did just that. With the Pace MAF, I have my Base on the MAFT set @ +2 which gets me to O ltrms at cruise and the WOT is set @ =+2 to give me .880-900s. Without the power tuning the Pace runs lean on the base and quite rich on WOT. My car actually idles better with the power tuning. Basicly to answer your original question, it is supposed to be calibrated for the LS1s and my car responded very well to it before I had the MAFT and Atap, however all cars are different and the 01s are pretty lean from the factory.Good luck.

I love mine as well. I got the de-screened version too. I'm running a perfect air/fuel ratio and never had to tune it.

I see since I replied to an older thread this doesn't really fit in the "internal" category anymore, so if somebody wants to move it, that's fine by me.

Slowrider5 - PAC8411FS is the descreened MAF part number for the F-Body LS1. PAC8411F is the original with screen. Hope this helps. I'll be expanding descriptions in more detail shortly on the products. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
