Why no LS1 based V-6?

Why no LS1 based V-6? Why hasn't GM made a LS base V-6 by removing the front two cylinders? I think it would make more power and get better mileage than the 4.3.
I think they could make 300HP V-6.
But I guess with the 4.3 still going strong guess its cheaper just to freshin' it up!

Because 90 degree V6's vibrate like crazy, they are inherently imbalanced.
hit the nail on the head, these days people want smoother running v6's and its a lot easier to do it with a 60 degree v6 then a 90 degree v6 and a balance shaft
