Ours is a VX, but am updating to VY Commodore come September when there out then. Race car only.
Yes, will be running at the new WSID, and sorting it out before the first meeting at Eastern Creek (Uggh). Rear end is strictly race only, moly 4 link, 9" rear, coil overs, watts linkage, same as my last race car (was a VP).
Whats that ARE 436" deal costing landed??? would be interested to know.
Next year, we will be doing LS1 engines only, for Performance and Drag Race use. Complete deals and parts. If someone like that was around now, would you have bought locally the same set-up??

Thanks for tip. Duh, of course, what was I thinking??
Your deal, would you have gone to an aluminium block, such as bored or possibly a sleeved LS1 alloy block, instead of the iron block 6 litre that you have?? If not, why??
We are looking to run into the nines with our deal, N/A, at 3,200lbs plus driver (@3,400 lbs all up, race ready). Over 5,200 stall, 4.56 gears.
Any tech help most appreciated.
Thanks!!
Weight of Commodore @ 3200 lbs (1450 kgs), drag race car only, T400, 7" converter, 262/262@ 050 Crow solid roller, cnc heads, Motec control box, Holley ported intake, Genie prototype 17/8" 4 into one headers, 4" exhaust with cut out, stock 246cid (for now), 4.56 gears, 28" tall ET tyres, (" rear, chromemoly cage, race 4-link rear with coil overs
Iron to me has a few strengths... Better clamping surface, not aluminum to aluminum. Great block strength, will take more detonation.
My shortblock setup also cost less than a 4.100 bore setup.
What bore IS your iron block?? And do you mean less than a 4.100" alloy block deal?? I know the Pro Stock NHRA guys run aluminium blocks, is the LS1 just that fragile for 500 to 700 hp at the flywheel?? Thanks!
