Default Heads/cam on...and does HPP3 programming erase after battery disconnect?

I just wanted to say that the heads and cam are in. A BIG thanks to my friend Darryl for all his help and living room floor so I could sleep for a few hours inbetween days.

I will have more info later but here is the short of it:

TEA Stage 1 heads (factory valves)
Milled 0.030" for 10.5:1 compression

Hammer cam

Mac headers

No tuning

Drives great and is a beast...

Also, does the HPP3 programming get deleted after the battery is disconnected for 36 hours? My fans are not coming on when they should for the HPP3 program I set. They are coming on like stock.

I have a splitting head ache so good night for a day or so. hahaha

If you pass through cookeville this weekend on the way home give me a yell and you can take one of my heads back and cc them.

HPP settings do not get erased. Things reset, like fuel trim, idle learn, etc but your computer program is stored in non-volatile memory.

Have fun!!

It was amazing just how easy the whole thing went. I am sure it would have taken me longer without Darryl there who had been through this once but I could do it again and not sweat it like I was before. It was really simple. If more people really understood this, they would do their own installs and wouldn't wait around 3 years like me.

Plus, I am glad we did the install because my dealership did some funky stuff on those head bolts when they replaced my vlaves (misshift). There was a white substance on them and they were full of liquid. What the CRAP!? It took a while to clean them out and get everything just perfect. My faith in dealerships has been dimished a tad after seeing that.

We also found two bolts on the tranny housing were loose too. The dealership did my last clutch install too. Enough said I believe...

I will measure that cam base cirlce for ya. 7.4's worked out great!! I am already home. Let's plan to meet up this week sometime. I can bring my cc kit to Cookeville or you can come to my house. Either way, I want you to keep your head, or I am liable to put it on my car!

Onfire said it is *possible* it got corrupted since the fans are not coming on when they should. So I will go back to stock then reporgram my fan settings.

Reprogrammed HPP3 settings. The HPP3 said they were programmed in but they were not working correctly. Everything is fine now.

Matchstick and I also tested my stock valve springs off my stock heads. With a little more than 25,000 miles on them from the factory, they measured the following:

Open Pressure @ 1.80 inches:
Helms Specification - 76 lb
As Tested - 60 lb

Closed Pressure @ 1.32 inches
Helms Specification - 220 lb
As Tested - 170 lb

The results were repeated on another spring with results being within 2 lb's.
