98SS1LWEE, I wish I was your friend. I wouldn't do a cam install just to do a cam install for any of my friends
Basically if you have that much time on your hands (wish I did) and wouldn't be upset if your efforts were for nothing, then do it. Of course time is more important to me than money...to an extent of course.

If it were me I would save the time and just port your friends TB and put the pulley on if you want. The ported TB would probably gain about the same as the cam and take FAR less time.

side note: The Z06 requires LS6 springs because of the higher lift and longer pushrods.

98SS1LWEEB, this should be in your sig "Boldly going where no man has gone before" jk ...I enjoyed this thread

We are building a couple pretty cool LS1 cars, feel free to stop by the shop anytime and check them out. A rear mount big turbo Z06, Couple of big (300ish) shot nitrous cars...etc...

Sounds great, can't wait to see the Z06, and Yes, I have heard all the problems Sean's car keeps having, but with the new harness, you all should be good to go, and the car is going to be crazy. Hope he beats Kyle. Thanks man, i'll check it out.

Old *** post, but why not lol. The 98 cam might have a slightly higher duration and lift, but look at the LSA.

after doing a search of all your posts you should just sell your car, you dont seem to know anything about it period. you may aswell pull out the stock cam, look at it for a while, touch it, then slide it back in and bolt everything back up....you wont notice a difference....MAYBE 1-2 hp on a dyno....MAYBE.

PS: you can remove the MAF all together if you just go get a speed density tune. cant believe you put on a ported maf....
