Re: What is cam surge?
I used to get it really bad when I had the M6 setup with my comp cam, I got a TH400 now and I also went with the custom programming, the car took 1 day to get used to the programming, and after that its been great, no surging at all... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: What is cam surge?
PSJ, i believe surge is caused by intake manifold absolute pressure is uneven(from overlap with cams)this unstability confuses PCM and it doesnt compensate properly,Why else would reprogramming pcm fix the situation? Raising the idle speed helps to lessen exhaust dilution of incoming intake charge(less time for charge contamination).
