Default LS1 Rear Cover / Gasket Differences

Any difference between early and late LS1 rear engine covers? I figured when GM changed the lifter oil galleys at the back of the block in circa 1999 they might have changed the rear cover design as well.

From what I can tell, the earlier covers were GM part number 12559287 while the later ones were 12572014. I'm trying to figure out if there is any actual difference between the two or if GM just changed the part number for the heck of it - and also whether the gasket was updated as well (which changed from 12559769 to 12574293 at some unknown point).

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure there are two different gasket shapes, but I believe the rear covers are the same. I vaguely remember someone asking me which style rear gaskets I needed on my last engine build.
