Has anyone heard of any cases where these broke? I had my heads done when the comp cam 941 was still the in thing, but I heard of too many issues with it so I went with the Iskys. No problems yet, but has anyone else had any? Thanks.

We just had a problem last week with a set, S2 heads with the TR 224 cam in a 2002 Trans Am. The only warning sign we had was smoke on initial start, we investigated into the problem and found 6 dampners broken (not the springs themselves) and cut the hell out of the valve seals. This could have been an isolated incident because I have 8 new sets of heads out there with no problems with the same cam size or larger. The trick that I was told to do from now on is to remove the dampners from all the springs and file down the sharp tips on both ends to a smooth transition, then radius the Ti retainers inner center land where the dampner comes in close contact to. This 2002 ended up getting the 931 springs with the baby Ti retainers, 1 engine flush and three oil changes with filters in a row to ensure the metal was totally gone from the motor.

I am running a set w/ my Thunder 224. They have been in about 4000 miles and they are working great so far.
you might check on the new Comp springs that allow you to use either the stock retainers or titanium ones. I think both Thunder and MTI are using these in their cam packages.
I will be replacing mine at 12000 miles just for piece of mind.

I'm running them with my B1 and so far no problems and I'm not real easy on them either
