Default New cam.... what expectations

Well I just bought a cam from, Ragtop99, Thanks Joel I was just wondering what I could expect with the mods below before headers??

specs are
duration @ .006 271
duration @ .050 218
lsa 114
lift .563
I will be installing 918 springs and ti retainers. Just wondering what I may see before the flp's go in.

PACE ls6 maf, lid, FTRA, asp pulleys, slp loudmouth, Ported Throttle Body -- basically all motor modifications.

Jim i saw 25 hp with similar cam swap only on a 112* on a very stock 2001 Z28 m6, no exhaust mods.
Gains would be higher if i raised stock rev limiter. This gain is based on track mph gains before and after cam swap.

No dyno graphs ive seen are almost identical, 112* is choppier at idle and 114* should have maybe 200 extra rpm before power falls off.

Jim,

I have this exact same cam. Ragtop99 is one of the reason I went with this cam, he had success with it. I also have no exhaust mode except with the SLP dual/dual option for SS. Here is a link to my dyno I had Dyno Graph .

I think once I add MAC headers I should see additional 30 rwhp at least.

You will really like this cam and it does like to rev.

When I first had the cam in I did not have custom programming. Played with the idle set screw to have the idle at 750rpms. TB is drilled to 13/64th. I had dyno tuning done a couple of weeks ago. It got me about an extra 10rwhp. It really is not needed but you will be a running a little rich after the cam install.

Have fun and remember, raise the rev-limiter to really enjoy this cam.

Jim,

Email me. I had set an email to somebody else on how to do this. I will email back with what I did to up the idle without programming.

JimTA, Are you a m6 or an a4? I only ask because I recently pulled 340/340 without the cam or headers.

I think you could go a lot bigger with an M6...up to the thunder 224 without much loss of drivability over the 218.

Well if you limited by HPP to 6600 than set it there and try to shift right at 6500 if you can.
If you are going LS1 edit or other custom programming i would have it set at7000 so it wont bother you for other mods down the road. IMO
