Default Question from a bud!!!

He has a 95Z BTW And he just changed the heads too.

His Question;
-------------------------------
what the signs are if your bottom end of engine is going. I think mines had it . I just changed the waterpump and when I started it up this morning, it sounded worse than a diesel truck sitting in my family room. I let car warm up to operating temp and bleed the hose's and was hoping the noise would go away. It didn't. Is temp gauge on dash hooked to waterpump or side of engine. Because the engine felt hot, yet the hose's felt only slightly warm. Could I just have a bad circulation problem, which could cause engine to sound like it's overheating, and not show up on temp gauge.

Any opinions??? Thanks from jat19

Jose, if motor was "knocking" from bad circulation
of coolant, overheating lets say, than it would still be quiet when first starting cold. It sounds to me that his lower end may be going away.Oil that dirtys up fast is one way of telling tired lower end, and knocking under load or revving in neutral are telltales of either worn bearings or piston pin holes.Collapsed piston skirts also cause knocking sound.
