Default I have an interesting situation with IAC counts after cam install...

Here’s the deal. B1 cam was just installed. My IACs are at 137, yet the car idles fine The TB hole has been drilled (not sure how much, shop that put the cam in did it) and my idle has been raised to 850 in gear and 950 in park.

I have no stalling or surging when coming to a stop. The car idles a little rough when cold for a second or two, and sometimes it stalls out on warm starts (not often).

Should I be drilling out the TB more? Or should I just be glad the car doesn’t stall? What else does the IAC count effect? My gas mileage is in the crapper if that means anything...

Might want to wait till the weather warms up. Mine acted like yours until the 90 degrees days hit and then the idle was very shaky. I did this little change, idle did not increase as it still idles at 850 in D, and it has helped. Just keep it as a FYI if it starts to act up in warmer weather.

I would use some drill bits to (not to drill) see what size the TB hole is. My TB hole was drilled to 13/64 and my IAC counts where up around 80 when warm and in drive. I raised the idle set screw to crack the blade open more and now my IAC are around 34 when warm and in drive.

This should be a good starting point. Don't raise idle set screw above .7 volts when idling. If you go above .7 you may need to drill the hole a little bigger to lower the TPS voltage.

These are just some ideas to look into.

Thanks for the info

But I’m wondering if I should even bother messing with it since I don’t really see any adverse effects from it being so high? I don’t want my idle any higher, I know that for sure. I could drill the hole more to get them down, but is there a need? Does it matter what that IAC number is if the car idles good? It’s only stalled out like once or twice when the PCM was still learning the new cam on warm starts. It’s been fine since then, but the counts are still high???
