MS4 is in!!!!!!!
MS4 is in!!!!!!! I finally got the MS4 in along with ported ls1 heads and this weekend I will hopefully get my TNT F1 kit installed. I have an oil leak though, I think its the front crank bearing. Anyways, the MS4 sounds so sweet, I am so excited to get it tuned. Any guesses on how many hp and tq I will be running with all that stuff? It will be a 150 shot with the MS4 and ported heads along with flowtech long tube headers and custom catback exhaust, SLP lid and K&N air filter.
is that on street radials or slicks? I am afraid I am going to blow out my transmission or rear end since they are both stock. I have street tires on it now. Which is most likely to break?

Your replacing the clutch, so thats a start. The tranny itself will hold the power no problem. As for whats weak in the rear end...everything. By the time you get everything aftermarket to go in your rear end you could buy a 12 bolt.

rear will def go with sticky tires. and like everybody else said, dont try and beef up the stock rear. u will have the same amount in that as u would a 9inch or a 12 bolt, and i say go 9inch

hell yeah. if you plan on going to the strip often, id look at the 9 inch. if its a once and awhile thing, mostly a street car, you should be able to get away with a 12 bolt. id go for the 9 inch myself. get that thing tuned and post a dyno graph. sounds like you have a great set-up so far, you just need to bullet proof a few things( rear end). with sticky tires, 10's should be no problem. your trans should hold, just dont f-up any shifts and you will be fine. you may also need some fuel system mods as well.
I forgot to put that I have the walbro 255 in right now also. i want a 9 inch but don't have the money after just doing these things to the car. Am I capabale of 11s with street tires?

I have my street tires on now and I can almost get them to break loose in 4th gear @ like 60 if I dump the clutch, and Im NA with stock heads
So to answer your question. NO. You wont see 11's on street tires. especially with N2O. You are just going to blow the tires off
So would you reccomend BFG DR or MT? I could chirp my tires in third before power shifting from second, took the car out for the first time today but tis not tuned so I don't want to beat on it or anything. It felt so much better but it is hard to drive because it bucks at any RPM under 2000 but I could really start to feel it pull at about 2600. I have a feeling its going to be crazy fast and that is the way I like my toys to be.
You are gonna pop the rear with any sticky tire if it hooks. I would keep street tires on it untill you can afford a 9" then go with a sticky tire.

I've got the centerforce clutch in my MS4 cammed car. And while it is a great clutch to drive on the street. It won't shift for ****. No way it would ever power shift much less just fast at all basically. And I have a Ram Adjustable master cylinder and a 01-02 slave cylinder in my car and it still won't shift if you spin up past 6000 rpm. Not saying it's totaly worthless clutch. Mine holds fine, soft pedal like stock smooth engagement. Just thought I let youknow my experiences with it.
we put a RAM clutch in my friends GTO and it's great. Doesn't engage as smooth as mine but you can powershift all day long with it. He got it from TSP and only cost like 389.00 I think. I plan to get one next time my car is apart.

I would go with a set of MT ET Street Drag Radials. The convincing factor for me on these was after seeing them used on a 64' "Vette" with a M-22 and a 502 BBC. The engine dyno'd 646 HP & 611 TQ at the FLYWHEEL. Due to the amout of space available on the Vette, he was only able to put a 8" wide tread pattern MT. The car hardly spins the tires now, where as before he could fry the tires in any gear whenever he wanted to. Not long after drag racing the car, he smoked his Centerforce Dual Friction clutch.
ewll that sucks, I just bought the clutch, I got it used and it looks good yet, it only has about 3000 miles on it, I got it for 125 with the pressure plate so I think it will hold up fine for now for that price. I am just damn excited to get it all tuned and take it for a real drive and see what it feels like.
