Will thinner head gaskets change piston to valve clearance?

Will thinner head gaskets change piston to valve clearance? I was about to go with some thinner head gaskets(40 thousandths) and was wondering if this would have any affect on piston to valve clearance?I am no genius so this is why I am asking.I think it would but I could be wrong.

Re: Will thinner head gaskets change piston to valve clearance? Most defintely!! I would always check piston to valve clearance when doing something that not to many people have tried. It is real easy to do with some playdough and some checker springs. Comp or Crane more than likely make kit with everything you need.
