I used to do the "drive it to the track" thing myself, but would never even consider not trailering my car. It doesn't mean I can't drive it to the track, just that I have enough sense not to: <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Never got a chance to CC the heads before they were bolted to the block.

The car is back together and running, going to put some miles on it today and maybe get some dyno runs if Jayson is at the shop today.

Tony everybody sure is interested in your port volumes... Tell them like I do.... The ports in my heads are as big as they can get them with a maximum hit water/weld-up of two times per port. At that they get this perplexed look on their face and walk off...

Really everyone most good head porters do not give out the port volume info. If you buy a set of their heads and then give out that info for everyone with a computer to see don't expect a big smile or his best work from him the next time you want a set of heads.

These people spend a lot of time perfecting their
trade and guard their work just like it's money which really it is.

If I gave out port volume info or let another porter look at my heads I would be shot on site the next time I showed up at SAM.

Tony from the graph it looks like you got me by about 6 or seven cfm on the intake and I'm right there with you on exhaust.

Good luck with the new engine.

Good reply Joe <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Besides, the volume of the port will not tell you much about where material is removed or how it is shaped. And, without alot of other ported LS6 heads out there to compare to, the data might just be useless.

All I know is 525 rwhp proves that they work well <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I thought the LQ9 heads were literally identical in every way to the LS6 heads, except that the combustion chamber was slightly larger in the LQ9's.
