Default Flow numbers for my new LS6 heads

Results just completed this evening, the heads are done!

MTI Stage 3 LS6 heads. 2.08" Intake valves, 1.60" Exhaust valves. The cam I will be running has a 0.610" lift. 4.10" test-bore, my actual cylinders are 4.155" though, so they should flow more on my motor

Now, if we just had some intakes that could keep up with these heads

1 more week..... the "Cannibal" should be running

They are worth it to me Terry

Hard to skimp on a 434ci setup in the first place, and we all know the heads are the most important part. Too bad those LS6 cores still cost $1200 a pair (ouch!). Stage 3 LS1 heads start to taper off pretty quickly after .550 lift, the LS6 heads keep pulling up by comparison.

Man, those are some great looking numbers. Look a lot like my heads up to .400 lift, but yours really pull ahead at .500 and stay ahead!

You should fly with those. After looking at those exhaust numbers though, you may want to consider a "reverse split" cam Tony. Those exhaust numbers are insane!! Tell Jayson and Robert well done.

I agree heads are the most important part. I wonder what kind of numbers people see from the 6.0L heads. Similar to LS6? Similar to LS6 in exhaust but similar to LS1 on the intake side?

Flow numbers I've seen on '01-02 6.0L heads are the same as LS6 heads up to .500 lift. I've seen flow numbers like 275 cfm at .400 lift for 6.0L heads. Above .500, the LS6s start to pull ahead. For someone running a .550 lift cam, you'd probably never see or feel the difference...the aluminum 6.0L heads are that good.

Very nice numbers Tony! Your setup is going to haul some ***!

Is there anyway you can post a graph comparing a MTI stg 2 LS6 and stg 2 LS1 head for a 3.90 bore? I'm not too woried about peak numbers; more just the shape of the curve, etc.

Great post ! Nine ball whats the chances of stating what the port volumes ended up at. Inlet & exhaust
Do you see now why I was suspicious of those "CLAIMING" 3 5 0 CFM
Thanks

Damn Tony, what compression ratio are you going to run? With flat tops and those heads, 13:1 would be possible.

Tony great #'s on those heads. I know Jayson's got to be happy, Pecos and Robert are top notch. I can't wait to see that beast run down the track! BTW why don't you "borrow" the intake in Jayson's office for some "testing".

Patrick, my next cam will be a solid roller . For now, it will just be a little Sanders1 hydraulic cam 244/244 .610/.610 112

Jason, I'll see what I can do as far as the flow number comparisons. They flow test every single head they make and keep records of them with the owner's name at the top.

VAP and Chris, I'll see if they can provide the volumes. Chris, I hope to get the motor in the car by next weekend. I miss my car!

Paul, compression ratio will most likely fall between 11.5 to 12.0, not sure right now. I just told Jayson to build the motor like he wanted to and told them that daily-drivability is not my main concern with the car anymore since I bought the new truck/trailer. I do want to run the car on pump gas though, at least until pump gas costs as much as race gas LOL!

Leo, these heads are Robert's doing. That man can port awesome! I'll see if I can get some pics of his work, you all will be drooling when you see his extreme attention to detail.

Awesome numbers. Sometimes I wished I had got a LS6 heads. Anyway, look forward to seeing great track times posted in the future.

Great numbers Tony . I hope that my Stage 3 LS6 will flow the same if not better. I'll be running the same cam as yours but on 114 LSA. The motor compression will be 11.2:1.

Can't wait to get my motor

LOL Ryan! I bought the trailer because it absolutely sucks to swap 4 wheels/tires at the track when I get there and swap them back off to put my street tires/wheels on to drive home. HRP is 40 miles from my place, otherwise I'd drive on the slicks haha.

The car will spend about 95% of the time on the new WS6 wheels/tires and prowling the streets of Houston

You haven't bolted on the heads without measuring the port volumes yet have you ?
