We used the stock sized graphite gasket which I think is .054". We filled the reliefs with clay a little past the top of the piston. Bolted on the head after wiping a little oil on the valves. We bolted the heads down pretty tight with the ARP bolts.
Put in the 7.400" push rods. Then bolted on the comp 1.75 rockers since they were adjustable. We set them to zero lash with the lifters on the base circle of the cam. And 2 old lifters were welded up for testing purposes.
We then rotated the motor over a few times. Then took the rockers off to look at the wipe pattern. It was pretty centered.
Took the heads off and the intake barely hit the clay by maybe .040". The exhaust did not even hit the clay.
I was pleased.
Now keep in mind I am using a cometic .040" gasket and a stock 1.70 rocker arm on the final assembly.

OEM gasket = .054 - .040 = .014
The problem is, the valves aren't anywhere near max lift when they are close to the piston, so the 1.75 rocker ratio really only gives you less than .003 additional lift at .100" lift, not enough to say for certain.
Did you cut the clay down the middle and measure it at the thinnest point?
You can also try using checking springs and a dial indicator, along with a degree wheel to check actual clearance. Some deflection with the spring pressures these lifts require will likely help you too.

Sorry for the double picture post guys. When I put them up, they did not show up. So I kept posting them.
I think we are going to check PTVC one more time now that the heads are bolted down with the .040" gasket. I really think it is going to be fine.
Patrick G does an awesome job specking out cam shafts for custom applications.
Do you guys think it is wise to cut down the rocker bolt in the intake runner if it does hang out in the runner?
And I still have not read any were about if these take the stock spark plug or a different plug style??

Looking forward to seeing what kind of power you make. I may put that same stick in my car, LOL.

Tonight I got the timing cover, crank pulley, water pump and power steering pump on. Moving right along.
What I have left to do, exhaust, intake, radiator and condenser. And a bunch of odds and ends electrical stuff. It should be in by this weekend.

I did this today when we installed the rockers and PR's. Thanks.
I also got the cooling system back together and all the exhaust back on.
Only thing left is the intake and n2o stuff. And fill the trans and put the shifter on it.
I should be ready to fire it up early next week.

We'll guys I got the intake bolted down, the plugs in it, filled the trans and put the shifter back in.
All I have to do now is put the valve covers and coils/wires on. Put the air box on and straighten up some n2o wires. Fill with coolant and oil and I'm ready to start it up!
I will record it and get it posted for you all. Stay tuned!

Heres a few pics before I put the lid on it. I put the FTRA on it after getting it painted.
I plan on taking it around the block a few time tomorrow before putting the hood back on it. I also plan on pulling a few rockers to inspect a few things in the valve train.
It idles about like the X3 copy cat I had. Sounds nice.
