Default cam question

Did a search but I kind of have a specific question. Im going to be dropping one of the first series lower hp LS6 engines in a 1952 chevrolet truck and putting a T56 behind it. Rear end gear can be whatever since I need to order it still....so anyways..

I want to cam the engine before I put it together(just had it bored .030 over and cleaned up, etc... so its bare block) and I was looking at the TR "Trak" cam because it seems like it fairly wild but still drivable. The truck will be used basically as a go fast machine, but Im worried about the extra weight compared to a vette or F-body and camming it and possibly making it a dog off the line and lower rpms... thoughts?

cliff notes-I want a fairly nasty cam that retains a decent low end grunt for a first year lower hp LS6....

sounds kinda big to me. Don't qote me on this but I think you may have to cut the pistons for valve clearance

I would go for something like 228/232 , or a 224/228 112. a freind of mine just made 400+ rwtq at 3500rpm all the way to 6800rpm with the 228/232 with home ported heads and a max of 442rwhp with ls6 intake. The car drives really strong down low .

220/224 .585/.585 on a 112, awesome lowend thru midrange trq, with good hp. aggresive idle. cam works solid thru 1800-6000. my opinion.

whats the tightest lsa I could run without loosing to much....I like alot of lope and overlap...but do I need to draw the line at 112 or if there maybe a cam that is a 110lsa with the 220/224 measurements? Sound is just as important as performance here...haha

Just get something that has 10 degrees of overlap and you will be good to go. Mine is 15 degrees. You can hear it in my sig, but that might be bigger than you want to go.
