Which cam should I get?

Which cam should I get? I'm starting my research for winter upgrades. I want to do heads and cam... but I still don't fully understand how the camshaft works (I understand the theory but don't understand how it relates to power)
So, here's the situation:
I'm not sure which Heads I'm going with yet. I will be getting upgraded lifters, forged pushrods, titanium retainers, and 918 springs. I will not be upgrading the bottom end so I don't want to shift past 6000-6200 RPM. I have a 3500 Stall Torque Converter (ST3500, and I don't plan on ever going to a lower stall). So I need a cam that makes power between 3500RPM and 6000RPM.
What do you guys suggest?

Well there are a lot of smaller cams that are good to rev to like 6200, but thats basically the stock limiter, its ok to rev to like 6500-6600 on the stock bottom end, since you are spraying I would look into a cam with a split duration for nitrous...more exhaust duration and lift...
It all depends on how big you want to go...
I have a 222/222 .563/.563 112lsa cam right now and I shift at 6500 all the time, its a pretty descent cam for motor considering I made the HP I did through a TH400... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I plan on upgrading to a bigger NOS cam when I put heads on the car...I'm going with something along the lines of a 226/232 .565/.585 112lsa..
