MMS218 or Comp Cam 212/218?
Anyone have any info on either of these Cams for an Auto. I am trying to figure out which one is better all around for driving/racing.

When in doubt go with the bigger one.
I personally do not think the comp 212 is big enough. The 218 will probably idle just as well but provide better power.

If my car was a daily driver, I'd get the TR220 cam. It's going to idle excellent in your A4. I'm running the Comp XE-R 224 with a 112 LSA in my A4, and it's doing great. It thumps nice at 750-800 RPM. The TR220 would provide you with excellent power without having to sacrifice drivability. Get it on a 114 LSA if you're still paranoid about it, but the 112 LSA would be pretty awesome IMO. The 212/218 is a very small cam, and the 218 isn't bad. If you're still in doubt, give Thunder Racing a call, and speak to Paul, Geoff, or one of the other guys there about the cam. You'll barely hear it at idle.

If that is the case I would defenitly get that instead. I like how Thunder Racing does buisness. Good people.

I have the MMS 218 cam and the drveability and power is excellent. The cam idles really good at 750rpm, but it has just enough random misfires to cause converter lockup problems without tuning, at least on my 01.
If I were to do it all over again knowing I would need tuning, I would have gone with the Thunder 220, the 212/218 cam is not worth it IMHO.
