Default ARE stage 2, & TR 224-112 is installed, Big thanks to Thunder Racing.

The head I cam install went smooth. Took us a few days, but we took our time, & stopped if we hit something that we weren't sure of.

Huge thanks to Geoff, Paul & Dave at Thunder Racing, for taking the time to explain a few things to me, in detail. Those things help, esp since I am not a mechanic.

The car fired right up, & when the weather cooperated, I took her out, & had some surge & idle issues. But some drilling of the TB cured that, and a little bump of the idle screw.

The car still didn't seem to be the beast I thought it should be. After doing the TA girdle (btw, Royal Purple 85-140 took away 90% of the gear whine), I noticed a small puddle of oil. Tracked it down to the valve cover gasket. My partner didn't use the new one on that side, & that's when I discovered a vacume line off.

Fixed both, & now the car runs like a rapped ape!! It pulls HARD, all the way to the 6300 shift points. Wideband dyno tunes are coming up next week, & LS1 edit should make this car a real pleasure to drive. Gas is 16 mpg right now, and that's with me getting on it. I've got some other things to work out, but once I do, I'll head to the track. I'll post dyno results next week, and maybe track times too.

Thanks Thunder, for a great product, and for attention to customer satisfaction. I plan to be the first to ride your cam into the 10's. Unless someone else has already beaten me to it. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Awesome.
Do you think I would like the 114LSA more for a daily driver?

Also, why did you choose ARE heads over the GTP or any other ones?

My car is a daily driver!! The 112 is a great daily driver, so I imagine the idle would be even better on a 114. With a quiet exhaust, most would not even know it was there.

I went with the ARE, because I am in Mich, & they are in Canada, alot closer than Texas. Plus I like the customer service at ARE. The heads looked great, & I'm sure this combo will get me into the 10's, once I get the details worked out.
