Default Lightweight valves? Brands and costs?

Hey all,

Im looking into trying to lighten up the valvetrain a bit in order to run some higher revs (->7200 or more). Im looking for information on lightweight 2.08" intake valves that will help my valvetrain spin and stay on lobe.

Anyone have good luck with particular valves?

thanks,
\chrisn

Titanium Ferreas are around $100 a piece <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> but talk about a LIGHT *** valve!

Less valvetrain weight is always good - but for the rpms you are talking about I wouldn't worry about it.

A set of shaft mount rockers and some double springs will do 100000x more for valvetrain stability than lighter valves in this instance.

Well, assume I already have those two items.
Im using the Crane 99893 springs, and will be trying Jesels adjustable setup, since the T&Ds I tried were not my favorite (understatement). I assume that comp cams chromemoly pushrods are as good as it gets (realistically) and that the Rev Kits for the LS1 dont seem to have been accepted popularly.

Visceral, use a solid roller and proper springs and then valvetrain weight is basically a non issue. If your set on hydraulic roller than call ARE and ask for long term sucess report on their rev Kit. That would be nice if its still feasible, rev kits put the control where it belongs.

Or you could do all of the above... T&D Shaft rockers, Ferrea 5/16 Titanium Valves, Manley pro stock retainers, and Manley Super 7 Titanium locks, 1.55" Isky 9375+ double springs...

Keep in mind I didn't say I needed all of this, I just really wanted it! <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

Weight on the cam side of the rocker isn't as critical as weight on the valve side, I wouldn't stress too much over adding weight to that side or trying to find really light pushrods....with a solid lifter cam. Not sure how or if that applies to a hydralic setup.
