Should I go with 112lsa or 114lsa?

Should I go with 112lsa or 114lsa? Okay, first heres what I want out of my car. Its a daily driver, sees alot of miles, needs to pass (new) texas emissions, decent drivability.
I've pretty much decided that Im going with one of the G2 cams. But Im not sure if I should go with the 112 or 114. I have an A4, but I was going to have the PCM tuned for the idle, as I know the 112 has a rough idle. but if its drivable, I don't mind a hard lope..in fact, its desired. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I've also heard that its harder on the emissions, but i've seen people with the hotcam pass very easily. The main thing that attracts me to the 112 is the power band. I like the low end power seeing as I don't see alot of track time and the high end is rarely used. But would the 112 just be too much of a hassle in a daily driven A4?

Re: Should I go with 112lsa or 114lsa? If a G2 cam is close to the Thunder 224 cam, the 114 is still going to lope. My car with the magnaflow muffler, ORP's, and FLP's has a very distinctive lope to it. (with stock tuning)
AS a matter of fact i just started the car up today in the garage and just listened to it idle for fun <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> man it puts a smile on your face.
Your in a similar position as i was. I need to pass smog. For that reason stay on the 114. It will idle cleaner especially at idle.
Power band? both are going to be very close, so i wouldn't worry about that. Maybe the 112 peaks 100 rpm's sooner?
Daily driver? Thats very subjetive. I would venture to guess that most people would agree that a 114 is "more suited" for a daily driver, but then again you have people who drive with the 112 lsa in autos every day, so who knows.
do a search, and you'll find even more info.

I went from the MMS 224v2 cam with a 112 ls to the MMS 224v3 cam with a 114 ls. lope sounds the same to me and Power band is about the same from what I remember. 114 will be easier to tune for emissions in my opinion with your A4. good luck. now that I got the 382 I am trying the 230/237 114ls.
