Potentially bad question
If you spin a bearing, how do you know? Does the engine start making some sort of a sound?
I ask because my car has developed a new metal-on-metal rhythmic squeak. I'm HOPING it's just a pulley or something simple, but it seems louder from the front wheel wells than the front of the engine. Hard to tell with the fan going, though.
I don't hear it when I'm under load. Not sure if that's because the increased exhaust noise is drowning it out, or if whatever is causing it stops.
Any input is welcome. I will probably end up taking it over to G-Force, regardless, to get them to take a closer look/listen.

Take a long screwdriver and put it on your alternator, in the rear of it. Stick your ear up to the screwdriver and see if the noise gets louder. Almost sounds like an alternator bearing to me.
better yet save yourself a trip to the shop, and just take off your entire belt, crank up the engine, and if the noise goes away, then you'll know that it's something with your belt system
