SELF PORTING LS1 HEADS HAS ANYBODY HERE PORTED LS1 HEADS THEMSELVES?IF SO WHERE DID U FIND THE INFO TO PORT THEM. IS THEIR A WEB SIGHT THAT SHOWS HOW TO DO THIS OR IS THEIR SOME KIND OF BOOK. HOW MUCH HORESPOWER DID U TYPICALLY SEE? JUST WONDERING. THANKS

Re: SELF PORTING LS1 HEADS I have and am porting LS1 castings. I have 12 years of engine building and porting heads intakes and carburetors. David Vizard has a excellent book on porting Small Block Chevy heads. You can learn a ton from this book, but be forewarned, LS1 castings have a very tricky flow characteristics, and i have a handle on them, but i have not mastered them.I dont know who would share the tricks to sorting them out with you. This is a pretty hot business right now, and most good info comes out after its old hat. Ls1 heads are definitely not for 1st time head porters.I hope this is helpful to you.
