Replace timing chain w/ H/C ?
I'd get the Katech chain if I were you. Stock gears. Thats what I'll be doing.
This isnt something you absolutly have to do, but while you are in there you might as well. SLP sells a double roller chain too, but its install will be a little more in depth since you have to pull the lower chain gear off the crank and press a new one on.

Get and IRL chain. It is a much better piece.

He was running a T1 cam, and Comp 941 springs. The valvetrain had nothing to do with the chain snapping, his springs held up fine...

Thanks for the input. I think I will replace it with another stock unit. Its held up to weekly trips to the track for many, many passes.
Thanks Paul
Thanks Paul
Just bought the cloyes IRL chain and its beefy as hell. The other chains look like a bicycle chain while this one looks more like a motorcycle chain. Don't get the replacement for the stock chain by cloyes, get this IRL chain and be safe with your investment!!!!

I should mention I was running about 130mph when it snapped and at around 4500 rpm. I dont think anything in the setup contributed to the failure...simply 3 years of drag racing and driving it like its supposed to finally took its toll.
