Replace timing chain w/ H/C ?
This isnt something you absolutly have to do, but while you are in there you might as well. SLP sells a double roller chain too, but its install will be a little more in depth since you have to pull the lower chain gear off the crank and press a new one on.
Yes do it. I didnt when I did my heads/cam at 30k miles and know Im rebuilding due to a broken chain.

Id get the cloyes, you can adjust the timing in 1 degree incriments sp? Plus you can get rid of the flimsy stock unit! about a 150 bucks

If you get the Cloyes, don't use the chain it comes with. Get and IRL chain. It is a much better piece.

[QBWere you using an aftermarket underdrive pulley? I've seen the Whisper unit break chains due to engine harmonics.
Brad[/QB]

I was/am running the ASP pulley. It has been on there for 2 years. I should mention I was running about 130mph when it snapped and at around 4500 rpm. I dont think anything in the setup contributed to the failure...simply 3 years of drag racing and driving it like its supposed to finally took its toll.
