I have a 99ss camaro with b1cam and flp headers w/orp.
A surging problem started about 2 weeks ago which I have never had before. When I am at partial throttle anywhere from 2k rpm to 3500 rpm the car surges bigtime. Also it is throwing more SES codes all of them being p0300 engine misfires. I'm also getting more backfires after letting off the gas. Again the surging problem only happens at partial throttle and not a complete stop at idle or at wideopen throttle.
I changed out the fuel filter and took off my maft translator but this didn't help. When I floor the car it runs real strong and after an atap I'm getting no KR and timing is avging 27 degrees with the HPP3 nonrfg tuning. The car currently has 37k miles on it.
Does anyone have any ideas what I should look for next??
Thanks
steve

What kind of numbers should I be looking for on the tps voltage and iac count? And is this measured at partial throttle?
thanks

TPS should be between .5-.7 at closed throttle. IAC counts should be 35-40 at idle. Adjust the throttle blade screw for both of these. Is the throttle body stock? Usually people will drill out the hole in the throttle body to 13/16 for a better idle. In your case though if it's happening in the mid-range I would say check all plugs and wires, and everything electrical. One time a didn't get a plug wire on all the way and this happened to me. Car would surge at midrange and idle alright. Good-Luck !
