Did we ever come to a conclusion on these semi-miracles at $13/each?

I just bought a couple of sets and am now worried if they are any good.
Are they ? has anybody had problems with them ?

I called my local NAPA store yesterday and they ordered them for me and the best part is that they have them there waitng for me to pick up right now. You can't get that type of service form the dealer!

Oh yeah they are $13.65 ea.

I think you missed a zero in your price somewhere.

We usually have some of the best pricing around, but if you can get them for $30 a piece, PLEASE drop me an email immediately. I may be interested in a few hundred sets.

Chances are, you got lucky during the transition when the GM phased out the gaskets ONLY part numbers and started shipping kits. You may have just gotten the kit instead of just the gaskets during the confusion.

What is the thickness of the gaskets? I'm trying to figure out what to mill the heads to with 7.35 pushrods and the NAPA gasket.

What other gaskets and bolts would you need for a 98' engine overhaul. I was told to go with 99' gaskets because they are reusable. If all the other items only come in kits then I might not be saving any money and just have 2 sets of head gaskets lying around.
